ATP Fitness was established by Ian Murphy and Cian o Flynn. After a decade of combined experience at the forefront of the industry, they noticed that many clients just wanted to come in, learn to train the right way in a non intimidating and friendly atmosphere. ATP Fitness set out to create a private personal training and class studio that valued a positive, team focused atmosphere that was inviting rather than intimidating. A place for everyone. They successfully created a place that was as enjoyable as it is results driven. Combining this inclusive atmosphere with their experience and industry expertise, ATP Fitness has quickly become the gym of choice for results in Cork!
“Fitness has always been a huge part of my life. I have played many sports growing up including GAA, soccer and rugby.
“I became interested in the gym over 10 years ago and was instantly hooked. I knew this was something I would love to do as a career and after working various different jobs I finally decided that it was time to go chase my dream! Helping clients reach their goals and improve their lifestyles became a passion and still is to this day. I have been a trainer for over 5 years now and still love the challenges I face on a daily basis.
“With my knowledge in nutrition and fitness I can help my clients meet their personal goals be it weight loss, strength training, overall fitness or preparing for competitions. I have also worked with a variety of sports teams during their pre-season and on-going training. Helping people feel better about themselves both physically and mentally is something I strive to achieve with every client.”

“6 years ago I decided to change my life.
“Growing up I was known as "HEFTY". It was safe to say I thoroughly enjoyed food. At my heaviest I weighed 19 stone. It was only in my latter years of playing rugby I was introduced to weight training and a healthier lifestyle. I instantly became hooked.
“My goal became to lose weight and get in good shape while doing so. As my passion grew for this lifestyle I knew becoming a personal trainer was the only career choice for me. I wanted to help others become fitter, healthier and happier versions of themselves.
“I have 5 years’ experience of training a wide variety of clients and I feel I can really relate to those people who are struggling with weight loss. I know I can really help them reach their goals be it losing weight, getting fit or building lean muscle.
“Trust me when I say the hardest part is starting, but it will all be worth it!!!

"I always had a passion for sports and exercise having played GAA Soccer and participated in Martial Arts. I have a huge passion when it comes to health and fitness I'm delighted to be working with three very experienced i.e old trainers such as Ian Cian and Gavin. The best part about working in ATP Fitness is getting to do what I love for a living and helping people to achieve their goals. I do what I love and love what I do"
"Weighing 17st (108kg) at 21yrs old this had to change! 6 years on my weight loss story is now my passion/job. A lot of my journey has been trial and error with training systems, nutritional plans etc. You need to find what works for you & your body. There is no one size fits all meal plan, training plan or diet pills. You need to put in the hard work, eat clean & be consistent. Don’t be disappointed if you don’t lose it in the first few weeks. You didn’t gain it all in a few weeks, it won’t all come off in a few weeks. It may have taken you weeks, months or years to have gained the weight you are now trying to lose. These things take time, trust the process and don’t be disheartened if you don’t see major changes straight away. But when you do start seeing these results – your body shape changing, fitting into smaller clothes, people telling you that you’re looking great, building confidence & that feel good factor – that’s when it hits home & what makes it all worthwhile!"
From a young age I was always involved in many sports, but for the most part playing Camogie. It wasn't until about 6 years ago, joining my local Fitness Club in Clare, that I was introduced to Resistance Training and Fitness Classes. I was hooked instantly. It opened up new doors and opportunities for me, meeting great like-minded people, doing adventure races and walking the Camino de Santiago. But most importantly for me, it was where I found my passion, my career.
Having qualified as a Fitness Instructor & Personal Trainer soon after, I moved to Cork and haven't looked back since. Being in an environment where I can help people achieve their fitness goals, be it introducing exercise for the first time, be it weight loss goals, gaining muscle tone, helping people come back from injury, whatever the goal, I am delighted to be in a position to help them increase their physical and mental wellbeing.
Being part of the ATP Fitness team is an exciting opportunity for me. The staff are so welcoming and knowledgeable, and the members so friendly. I look forward to working with them all, helping them achieve their fitness goals.
